Lecturer Pool in Department of Geography, Environment, and Spatial Analysis (Academic Year 26/27)

Working in small classes and our state-of-the-art lab, students explore humankind's ever-changing relationship to the environment. Then, students use what they know out in the field, undertaking important research topics like global warming, deforestation, ethnic conflict, urban planning and much more.

Innovative teaching, hands-on learning and unforgettable field study are just a few of the reasons our program stands out. Our professional-minded students also attend regional and national conferences each year, where their projects earn major awards and the respect of their fellow geographers. And we're known far and wide for preparing students for success in graduate school and on the job.

Courses offered by the department include Nature, Culture, & Food, Global Awareness, California Depth Experience, Geography of the Middle East, Regional Climatology, Mountain Geography, and Political Geography. The department also offers Geospatial Program labs and Cartography.

Unless otherwise noted below, the minimum qualifications are a Master's degree in appropriate field, as well as documented successful teaching experience. Preference will be given to candidates who are ABD or have a completed Ph.D. as well as relevant training and teaching experience for the course(s) or area of specialization.

Salary:
Dependent on qualifications and experience. The salary schedule information for the Lecturer – Academic Year Classification is available based on the following ranges:

Lecturer A $5,507 - $6,677

Lecturer B $6,221 - $13,224

Lecturer C $6,825 - $14,523

Appointees are typically placed at the beginning of the range. The full-time (15 units per semester) monthly base salaries indicated in the schedules above are prorated to the number of units worked and are paid in six monthly payments for each full semester.
