SUMMARY:Supervisor assumes leadership and responsibility of daily implementation of grant funded project requirements, management and reporting of information as required by grant funder and UIHS. Within this role, the Health Promotion and Education (HPE) Supervisor will be assigned to oversee public health grant funded projects that address one to two of the following health topics: tobacco use, suicide prevention, opioid use, domestic and intimate partner violence, obesity, teen pregnancy, sexual health, injury and drug/alcohol prevention, harm reduction/syringe exchange, and health lifestyle choices.
The HPE Project Supervisor oversees all grant activities, documents all expenditures, preparation of progress reports, ensuring all project goals met by the identified timeline. This position will be responsible for the direct supervision of HPE Technicians and/or HPE Specialists who are funded under the project. This position works directly with our Tribal community, Tribes, county officials, and funders to integrate and elevate the project and/or services offered within each grant.
This position is also responsible for identifying and securing funding for future programing to address public health needs of our Tribal community. Within this position, the planning and implementation of all work is guided by the cultural, traditional values and practices of American Indians and Alaska Natives.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Level I
- Ensures compliance with the rules and regulations administered by the funder and United Indian Health Services (UIHS), Inc.
- Performs financial administration and reporting to funder and UIHS, through preparation and timely submission of grant applications and reports, development and adjustment of budgets, and coordination of allocating funds.
- Assists in the preparation and timely submission of grant applications, reporting, application amendments and budget modifications.
- Monitors/tracks the status of each goal/objective through grant timelines.
- Assumes responsibility for grant reporting, which includes assisting with assurance that all required tasks were completed in addition to ensuring all expenditures were finalized within grant award period.
- Supervises HPE project staff and identifies professional development and training opportunities for staff members.
- Assigns, delegates and leads project staff of requirements associated with the grant to ensure timely completion of grant activities.
- Oversees the development of departmental policy, procedures, and quality improvement activities within the clinic as directed.
- Attends organizational and grantee meetings and participate in project conference calls, ensuring prompt responses to all forms of communication between UIHS and the funding agency.
- Coordinates project meetings and other project activities. This includes communicating and collaborating with other UIHS staff and programs as needed to complete project activities.
- Arranges, organizes and/or provides individual or group programs or interventions through prevention and education activities to increase community, individual, staff knowledge or influence positive behavior outcomes.
- Assists with the development and maintenance of good working relationships with community and tribal organizations to achieve project goals and objectives.
- Assists the HPE Manager in the coordination of the Teen Advisory Group (TAG) program and the Community, Outreach, Resource, and Education (CORE) Coalition.
