Purpose and Scope of Responsibility

Mad River Community Hospital (MRCH), as a Training Center for American Heart Association, is hiring instructors who will deliver high-quality instruction for BLS, ACLS, PALS, or related courses. This position will also involve the following: being responsive to the Training Center Coordinator, Training Site Admin, the Chief People/Compliance Officer, and the CNO as needed; professional conduct, including following related MRCH policies;

and accurate time keeping. This is a part-time Per Diem position for a paramedic (BLS, ACLS, and/or PALS), nurse (BLS, ACLS, and/or PALS), or EMT (BLS).

  • Retains provider and instructor status for the American Heart Association (AHA) course(s) taught.
  • Sets up and takes down classroom, including cleaning of supplies as appropriate.
  • Maintains availability to teach at the MRCH Training Center periodically.
  • Teaches high-caliber courses according to AHA guidelines, standards, and teaching materials.
  • Completes student and instructor paperwork following each AHA class.
  • Helps with hospital code blue and code white drills, as suitable.
  • As appropriate and as available, assists with other duties when requested.
  • Works directly with the Training Center Coordinator.
Position Qualifications
  • Current license as a Registered Nurse, Paramedic, or EMT.
  • Current BLS, ACLS, and/or PALS Provider and Instructor Certification.
  • Must meet the required elements of the essential job functions.
