SUMMARY:
Open Door Community Health Centers (ODCHC) is a dynamic and innovative company committed to cultivating a culture of learning and growth. We are seeking to hire an experienced Clinical Nurse Educator (CNE) to join the ODCHC team. The CNE will be responsible for ensuring the Clinical education of the health center staff aligns with Open Door’s strategic goals. They will oversee the development and implementation of educational trainings for clinical care team staff, empowering staff to confidently operate at the top of their scope and to provide impressive care to patients.
They will also establish and strengthen partnerships with external educational stakeholders to grow Open Door’s clinical workforce.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
These responsibilities are performed under the supervision of the Workforce Development Director and within the context of collaboration and coordination with the Director of Clinical Services.
• Develop annual needs assessment, training plan, and curriculum in collaboration with Workforce Development Director, Director of Clinical Services, and other organization stakeholders for Open Door’s clinical care team staff, which includes medical assistants, licenses vocational nurses, registered nurses, and medication room technicians.
• Facilitate development, maintenance, and implementation of onboarding curriculum for clinical care team staff.
• Design and continuously improve and adapt curriculum based on the assessment of quality data, educational needs, and industry best practices.
• Teach courses and provide training to clinical care team staff.
• Develop and maintain annual skills validation for all clinical care team staff through skills fairs, training programs, and various venues to ensure competencies.
• Support clinical care team staff with credentialing and certification and renewal process, in partnership with Compliance Department.
• Work with RN Clinic Managers and serve as a mentor to clinical care team staff to identify growth opportunities and educational needs, and create targeted education plans.
• Maintain current knowledge of trends in the area of expertise.
• Collaborate with community stakeholders and academic institutions to support curriculum development and educational experiences for clinical care team health professions students.
• Co-supervise staff trainers in partnership with the Director of Clinical Services and Workforce Development Director.
• Contribute clinical training expertise to relevant organizational projects and grants.
• Other related duties and responsibilities as designated by supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPECTATIONS:
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to establish constructive working relationships with physicians, advanced care practitioners, nurses, case managers, other clinic staff, local schools, and community practitioners and resources.
• Ability to work as a member of a team and independently as needed.
• Ability to handle difficult or confrontational situations in a calm, consistent, and equitable manner.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Knowledge of adult learning theory and teaching practice.
• Commitment to professional development and lifelong learning.
• Experience in a similar position in a community health center, outpatient mental health clinic, or private practice.
• Ability to effectively represent ODCHC’s interests in the community and maintain effective working relationships among co-workers, public, private, and professional groups.
• Strong computer skills with specific aptitude in Microsoft Office Suite and/or Electronic Medical Records (EMR).
• Adheres to ODCHC’s policies and procedures.
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) preferred.
• 2-5 years of experience working as a registered nurse in a clinical setting.
