Salary Range: $5,083 – $7,228 per month.
Anticipated Hiring Salary: $5,083 per month.

Position Summary

Professional, full‑time, live‑in residence life coordinator responsible for student, community, and social justice advocacy within the residence halls. Oversight of 8–21 student leaders, including a Student Assistant, and management of learning communities in the Housing & Residence Life areas. Coordinates housing initiatives that foster curricular and co‑curricular engagement among students living on campus.

Key Responsibilities
  • Student Staff Supervision and Community Development (40%)
    • Hire and train Resident Advisors (RA) and Lead Resident Advisor
    • Plan and organize ongoing staff training
    • Conduct bi‑annual student staff evaluations
    • Create and oversee duty schedule
    • Monitor job performance through weekly meetings
    • Implement housing community development model in your area
    • Program tracking and assessment
    • Maintain budgets for staff and area councils
    • Maintain a strong and visible community presence in respective areas
    • Support the mission and goals of Residence Life
    • Collaborate with campus partners to provide educational and community development programming in the halls
  • Community Action Conference (20%)
    • Review and explain Housing and University policy
    • Review incident reports
    • Hold Community Action Conference promptly to determine responsibility in an incident and issue a finding
    • Complete documentation regarding Conference findings (letters, database, etc.)
    • Mediate high‑level roommate conflicts
  • Professional Staff Team Member (10%)
    • Attend weekly Residence Life Team meetings, monthly Department meetings, and other meetings as needed
    • Develop, implement, and participate in professional development training
    • Serve on department committees as needed
    • Represent Housing & Residence Life on university‑wide committees
    • Serve as a positive role model and mentor for new team members
  • Duty and Crisis Response (5%)
    • Respond to emergencies and other crises, which may require driving to remote locations
    • Serve as initial point of contact for emergency personnel
    • On‑call duty rotation
    • Provide regular updates regarding incidents while on duty
  • Resident Advocate (5%)
    • Facilitate problem‑solving meetings among residents
    • Act as a resource and provide referrals as needed
    • Provide academic advising and assistance
  • Advise Student Groups (5%)
    • Advise area council(s)
    • Attend council meetings
    • Provide guidance and mentorship to volunteer student staff
    • Meet regularly with council president and/or executive board
  • Oversee Facilities (5%)
    • Work with custodial, grounds, and maintenance staff to ensure safe and clean living area
    • Meet with custodial, grounds, and maintenance staff as needed
    • Follow‑up on building damage issues as appropriate
  • Administrative (5%)
    • Complete weekly and annual reports
    • Assist with professional staff hiring process
    • Complete and submit all necessary budgetary paperwork
    • Other tasks as assigned
  • Other Duties (as assigned) (5%)
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Working knowledge of student services program practices and procedures
  • General knowledge of organizational and program management, research and interview techniques, principles of individual and group behavior
  • Solid administrative and organizational skills; effective interpersonal and intercultural communication skills; computer proficiency
  • Interpret and apply program rules and regulations; use initiative and resourcefulness in planning work assignments; obtain factual information through interviews; reason logically; collect, compile, analyze data and make presentations; advise students individually and in groups; recognize multicultural, multi‑sexed and multi‑aged value systems; establish and maintain cooperative relationships with faculty, administrators, student…
