Mechanical Engineer Associate – Archbald, PA
Lockheed Martin is seeking a Mechanical Engineer Associate in Archbald, PA.
Responsibilities- Collaborating in a team environment to develop mechanical design solutions of varying complexity using solid models, detailed drawings, and release of engineering work products.
- Reviewing requirements from various sources (stress, dynamics, systems, thermal, manufacturing, etc.) to ensure that applicable requirements are flowed into the detailed design of assigned products.
- Collaborating with peers, configuration management, and manufacturing to ensure program requirements and schedules are met.
- Contributing to the completion of program achievements by the release of accurate, error‑free, affordable, and producible engineering designs.
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university in Mechanical Engineering or a similar field.
- Experience or familiarity with mechanical design, systems, and/or manufacturing, including the use/interpretation of engineering design drawings.
- Experience with one or more engineering CAD tools (PTC Creo, NX, Solid Works, etc.) and model‑based product definition.
- Must be a U.S. citizen and have the ability to obtain a DoD security clearance.
- Understanding of mechanical engineering fundamentals, including structures, mechanisms, materials, analysis, mechanical packaging/electromechanical packaging, etc.
- Experience with the creation of 2D production‑type drawings, drawing revisions, releases, and engineering change notices using Enterprise Product Data Management (EPDM) or Windchill.
- Knowledge of industry and military standards and specifications (MIL‑ST‑800).
- Familiarity with Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) and ASME Y14.5.
- Knowledge/experience with mechanical analysis (thermal and/or structural), including FEA and CFD.
- Good oral, written, and presentation communication skills.
This position requires a government security clearance. The minimum clearance level is Secret. Must be a U.S. citizen.
