Join the Animal Nutrition accounting team as a Cost Accountant and take ownership of cost accounting activities across a diverse network of operational locations and partners.

This role is located at our Corporate Headquarters in Arden Hills, MN (Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday in office each week).

• Work with key partners on product cost set‑up, work order completions, sales and receiving corrections, freight issues, and cycle count reconciliation.
• Evaluate, analyze, and resolve product costing to provide accurate reporting.
• Update standard costing to new calculated weighted average cost based on weekly activity, reviewing and analyzing costing variances.
• Evaluate and correct general ledger activity and balances to ensure accurate gross margin reporting.
• Analyze and explain COGS variances month over month.
• Execute month‑end close activities including journal entries and account reconciliations.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (required).
• 1‑2 years’ experience in accounting, ideally cost accounting highly desired.
• Proficient with ERP accounting applications (JDE or SAP preferred) and Microsoft products; advanced Excel required.

• A solid understanding of inventory and cost of goods sold financial drivers.
• Strong analytical instincts and the ability to draw insights from variances and trends.
• A collaborative mindset and enthusiasm for working in a team‑oriented environment.
• Confidence navigating financial systems, improving processes, and contributing to project initiatives.
• A proven ability to build trusted relationships across functions.
