About the role:
Develop and lead packaging plans and strategies aligned with business goals-specifically in support of partnerships and acquisitions. In this role, you'll independently (or as part of a team) develop, direct, and execute plans for major segments of complex projects. You'll also compile and analyze operational, test, and research data to establish technical specifications for designing or modifying packaging, products, processes, and materials.
Yourresponsibilities will include:
- Fully participating in and contributing to project teams-including due diligence, test data review, gap analysis, packaging strategy development, proof of design capability, and documentation (specifications, protocols, reports, and process/test records)
- Successfully developing and aligning the packaging integration workstream with key project milestones
- Reviewing packaging work streams with management to ensure alignment
- Identifying packaging integration risks/gaps and creating mitigation plans
- Completing complex engineering work in packaging/product design and development, including material evaluation, process studies, and research investigations
- Managing packaging component activities, including generation of DMR documentation, part creation, and sourcing
- Designing and coordinating studies to solve complex problems; analyzing results to determine root cause; making sound design recommendations
- Assessing feasibility and soundness of alternative engineering processes, products, or equipment
- Managing and/or reviewing packaging verification and validation data in accordance with quality systems, including risk assessment, design input/output translation, and user need alignment
- Collaborating with BSC departments, divisions, and suppliers to ensure consistent, practical packaging strategies
- Providing supervision or mentorship to technicians and/or interns, as applicable
Required qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Packaging, Mechanical, Materials, Electromechanical, Industrial Maintenance, Chemical, or Industrial Engineering
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in an engineering role related to packaging development or manufacturing
- Demonstrated ability to apply quality system requirements, including design inputs/outputs, verification/validation, and process validation
- Experience with developing technical documentation such as DMRs, specifications, protocols, and reports
- Working knowledge of packaging design, materials, or equipment used in medical or industrial applications
- Ability to travel as needed to support integration activities and collaboration with acquired sites
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience in acquisition-related manufacturing and/or distribution integration
- Familiarity with manufacturing business software systems (e.g., PLM, BMRAM, MES, SAP, S4, GLS, Bartender)
- Demonstrated ability to mentor and support integration of acquired entities
- Strong organizational skills with ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize competing tasks
- Excellent critical-thinking and problem-solving capabilities
- Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across functions and levels
- High integrity and professionalism with ability to establish credibility
- Intermediate knowledge of packaging materials and equipment (e.g., paperboard, corrugated, flexible films, Tyvek, thermoformed trays, injection-molded parts)
- Familiarity with ASTM/ISTA packaging test methods and ISO standards related to packaging design
- Experience working in the medical device industry, ideally, or a regulated industry

Minimum Salary: $85,000
Maximum Salary: $161,500
The anticipated compensation listed above and the value of core and optional employee benefits offered by Boston Scientific (BSC) - see - will vary based on actual location of the position and other pertinent factors considered in determining actual compensation for the role. Compensation will be commensurate with demonstrable level of experience and training, pertinent education including licensure and certifications, among other relevant business or organizational needs.
At BSC, it is not typical for an individual to be hired near the bottom or top of the anticipated salary range listed above.
Compensation for non-exempt (hourly), non-sales roles may also include variable compensation from time to time (e.g., any overtime and shift differential) and annual bonus target (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).
