About the Role

The Principal Process Engineer – Acquisitions and Integrations is a key leadership role focused on ensuring the success of acquisition and optimization strategies. The engineer will act as a subject matter expert and technical leader for the MAKE internal manufacturing aspects of integration, including Production and Process Controls, Facilities and Controlled Work Environments, Equipment Controls, and support for broader Program Management leadership and Product Integration activities.

The role requires a hybrid work model with a minimum of three (3) days per week in the local office.

Responsibilities
  • Operate as subject matter expert on the MAKE Engineering team to provide expertise, structure, and processes for scalable acquisition integration solutions.
  • Partner broadly with GSC, Quality, and Divisional functions to enable successful acquisition integration.
  • Guide and mentor others in the acquisitions and integrations domain, ensuring best practices are known and followed.
  • Navigate ambiguity and operate comfortably in “the grey,” listening to others to seek understanding first.
  • Anticipate future acquisition needs and shape the team’s skillsets and tools accordingly.
  • Serve as a trusted leader and partner in acquisition and integration discussions.
  • Identify and collaborate with key partners across central organizations such as Quality, IT, Packaging & Labelling, Core Systems, OTC/Distribution, Materials, IE, and various divisions.
  • Document, deploy, and champion integration best practices as outlined in the Acquisition & Integration Roadmap (AIR) playbook.
  • Engage and influence the global quality system from the acquisition and integration perspective.
  • Leverage technical problem solving and risk identification in both planned and unplanned scenarios.
  • Participate in program planning activities for new acquisitions, including Frame Strategy, Post‑Diligence Assessment, product integration facilitation, and strategize & align planning workshops.
  • Develop technical strategy for production and process controls, product integration, and MAKE integration activities.
  • Represent the GSC Acquisitions and Integrations team positively at all times and handle difficult conversations to reach optimal outcomes.
  • Build and leverage a strong network within the Boston Scientific technical community to access talent, solutions, and ideas supporting acquisition integrations.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related science discipline.
  • Minimum 7 years of professional experience in the medical device industry or a comparable highly‑regulated industry.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Strong ability to influence cross‑functional and senior‑level stakeholders.
  • Regular travel up to 30% domestic and/or international.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Technical experience in Process Development or Manufacturing Engineering.
  • Degree in Chemical, Biomedical, Electrical, Software, Packaging, or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Prior integration and/or transfer experience.
  • Project management experience, including Agile methodologies.
  • Knowledge of external standards applicable to medical device manufacture.
  • Experience in process acceptance activities, controls, finished goods acceptance, handling, distribution, and control aspects of P&PC.

Travel requirement: up to 30% domestic and/or international.

Minimum Salary: $102,100;
Maximum Salary: $194,000.
