Trane Technologies has an exciting opportunity for a Senior HVAC Development Engineer. The Sr. HVAC Development Engineer leads front-end project development by evaluating customer facility needs, conducting facility and project opportunity assessments, and developing strategic solutions tailored to customer objectives. This role advances opportunities through the development phase by partnering closely with Pre-Construction, Estimating, Project Management, and external partners to create scope, support contract development, and position projects for successful execution.

Some travel is required within the Midwest, including occasional overnight stays.

* What you will do:

*** Lead complex energy, infrastructure, and facility modernization opportunities from qualification through contract execution, delivering customer solutions aligned with their unique goals and priorities.
* Evaluate mechanical, electrical, and building systems to identify operational risks, deferred maintenance, lifecycle opportunities, and capital improvement needs.
* Partner with technical experts to develop solutions that align with customer objectives and project requirements. Solutions may include HVAC modernization, building automation and controls, energy efficiency improvements, facility renewal, deferred maintenance reduction, electrification, sustainability initiatives, resilience improvements, intelligent building technologies, renewable energy solutions, and other emerging technologies.
* Collaborate with designers, contractors, estimators, and operations teams to ensure solutions are practical and executable. Evaluate project phasing, constructability, implementation challenges, subcontractor approaches, risk factors, and execution strategies to improve project outcomes and reduce delivery risk.
* Utilize knowledge of codes and standards to guide and confirm compliance of project solutions.
