Senior Strategic Sourcing Specialist - Electronics

About the role

The Sr. Strategic Sourcing Specialist applies a thorough and analytical approach to developing and executing sourcing strategies designed to reduce total costs, enhance supplier value contributions, and secure a sustainable competitive edge in key direct sourcing categories. This role collaborates with divisional stakeholders to align and optimize sustainable sourcing strategies for the electronics category and partners with cross‑functional partners in Supplier Quality and Supplier Engineering to execute project deliverables, while ensuring product quality and cost savings.

• Gather market intelligence and trends for the electronics category and sub‑categories
• Identify all suitable suppliers to develop comprehensive knowledge and supplier database
• Guide respective internal leads through a holistic and systematic category approach to material and supplier selection and management; identify in sourcing and outsourcing opportunities
• Manage strategic supplier relationships according to the category strategy and strategic differentiators for each supplier
• Analyze data and develop cost modeling tools (e.g., should‑cost, COGS) to manage category
• Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and mitigate issues and supplier‑related risks
• Work with suppliers to promote continuous value improvement for quality, service, and cost
• Manage supplier performance and identify Value Improvement Programs (VIP) to improve the total cost of ownership (TCO)
• Establish an optimal balance between collaborative engagement and competitive pressure with supply base to ensure maximum value is realized, including negotiations on supplier contracts and value improvements
• Support the annual budget process for assigned suppliers and resolve systematic issues
• Establish early involvement to achieve development performance goals, support project timelines, and manage product cost

• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, engineering, business or a related field
• Minimum 3 years of direct sourcing experience and supplier relationship management
• Experience with MS Excel and other applications (e.g., Word, PowerPoint, MS Project)
• Ability to travel globally up to 20%

• Master’s degree or professional certification (e.g., CPSM, CPIM, CSCP, PMP, Lean Six Sigma)
• Experience sourcing electronic components for manufacturing operations
• Experience working in medical device or similar regulated industry
• Strong decision‑making and negotiation skills, ability to influence internal and external teams
• Ability to work independently and collaborate with cross‑functional teams to complete projects
• Strong interpersonal skills, with ability to communicate effectively with individuals on all levels
• Strong critical thinking and analytical skills: process and results‑oriented
• Detail oriented with strong organizational skills; ability to multi‑task and prioritize competing responsibilities effectively

Minimum Salary: $89,100
Maximum Salary: $169,300 (including variable compensation and incentives if applicable)
