Capital Equipment Tech II - 1st Shift

About the role:

The Capital Equipment Manufacturing Technician will perform a variety of moderately complex tasks to ensure production quality standards are met. Under limited supervision, performs the setup of equipment, fixtures, components, cables, etc. for test. Performs all mechanical assemblies. Performs hand setups for AC and digital tests, recognizes failures and set‑up problems, and determines need for appropriate verification, including correction of failure.

Operates test equipment including samplers, oscilloscopes, pulse generators, meters, power supplies and specialized test fixtures. No instructions are needed on routine work, and general instructions are given on new lines of work or special assignments.

• Performs final assembly and tests on all products.
• Independently operates and tests computer‑controlled devices and performs detailed problem solving.
• Supports Manufacturing Engineering and R&D with the testing of new products as required.
• Uses detailed troubleshooting skills at system assembly levels on all products. Diagnoses the problem, gets to root cause and gives feedback to Manufacturing Engineering.
• Improves product reliability by working with Manufacturing Engineering and attending meetings as required.
• Trains Product Builders and other Technicians, and other internal and external customers as required.
• Follows procedures from work instructions and has detailed knowledge of how instructions and drawings are used.
• Collaborates with Manufacturing Engineering personnel to review process instructions and procedures to improve the process.
• Provides support for Capital Equipment Manufacturing, Repair Operations, Manufacturing Engineering and any other internal customer as required.
• Performs and explains the testing of products during a tour, inspection or audit.

• 2 years of experience with a high school diploma/degree/equivalent, or an equivalent combination of education/work experience.
