Asphalt Laborer (Entry-Level)

We are seeking a dependable and hardworking Asphalt Laborer to support our paving crews on highway and civil infrastructure projects. This is an entry-level position with opportunities to learn the trade, gain hands‑on experience, and grow within the company. You will assist skilled crew members with daily operations while contributing to the successful completion of high‑quality paving projects.

JOB DUTIES & REQUIREMENTS
  • Assist paving crew with general labor tasks including shoveling, raking, sweeping, and material handling.
  • Support the setup and cleanup of job sites before, during, and after paving operations.
  • Assist with traffic control and maintaining a safe work zone.
  • Follow directions from foreman and crew leaders to complete assigned tasks.
  • Help maintain tools and equipment in good working condition.
  • Work alongside equipment operators and crew members to ensure efficient workflow.
  • Follow all safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Participate in daily safety meetings and weekly toolbox talks.
  • Maintain a positive attitude and willingness to learn new skills.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Must have valid driver's license with positive driving history.
  • Must be able to pass a pre‑employment drug screen.
KNOWLEDGE
  • Basic understanding of construction or outdoor labor is helpful but not required.
  • Willingness to learn asphalt paving processes, tools, and equipment.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • No prior asphalt experience required – training provided.
  • Ability to work flexible hours including nights and weekends.
  • Ability to travel and work out of town when required.
  • Ability to work in varying weather conditions.
  • Strong work ethic and reliability required.
PHYSICAL ACTIVITY
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and kneel for extended periods.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs regularly.
  • Comfortable working outdoors in extreme temperatures and weather conditions.
  • Ability to perform physically demanding labor for extended periods.
  • Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) such as hard hats, safety glasses, gloves, and boots.

Travel within Oklahoma and North Texas is required.
