Special Needs Assistance Provider I - 31222

We are currently looking for a Full Time Special Needs Assistance Provider I to join our Child Wellness SNAP Unit 2 team located at the Chickasaw Nation Child Development Center
- Ardmore working 8:00AM-5:00PM
- Mo Tu We Th Fr.

Summary:

Provides direct assistance to children with special needs and assists teaching staff in providing quality care and education.

Responsibilities:

* Provides first class customer service to both internal and external customers and responds to inquiries, compliments, and/or complaints with professionalism, courtesy, and efficiency

* Completes all training and development requirements and participates in continuing education opportunities

* Works in a collaborative and supportive manner to support the productivity and safety of the work area, team members and customers of all types
- Maintains a clean, organized work area and ensures a safe environment
- Maintains and promotes professionalism
- Punctual and consistent in meeting start time, work schedule, attendance and other assigned work time metrics
- Adheres to Chickasaw Nation dress code standards

* Maintains knowledge of and follows all rules, regulations, policies and guidelines for assigned area

* Implements objectives and goals set forth on the Individualized Education Program and/or Individualized Family Service Plan for children with identified disabilities and/or special needs

* Receives guidance from qualified personnel to implement techniques that support and aides the achievement of IEP/IFSP objectives and goals

* Communicates student progress toward IEP/IFSP goals and objectives and works with staff as directed in modification of those goals and objectives

* Assists the teacher in modification of lesson plans, activities and instructional aids for children with special needs to aid in academic and developmental areas such as music, art, language, cognitive skills, nutrition, health, culture and organized play using a variety of methods

* Maintains and ensures availability of a safe indoor and outdoor environment for children with special needs

* Assists in classroom arrangement in order to ensure students with special needs are adequately accommodated

* Assists in preparing impacted students for changes in environment or schedules

* Assists with appropriate modifications to work toward social and emotional development and reports progress, as directed

* Immediately reports any potential health and well-being concerns of students (i.e. abuse, neglect) as required by law

* Attends trainings and meetings as directed

* Assist with behavioral needs of children in classroom environment, as needed

* Performs all other duties as assigned

Competencies:

* Able to follow instructions, both written and oral

* Able to adhere to all scheduling and attendance requirements

* Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality in all matters

* Honesty, truthfulness, reliability, accountability

* Able to read, understand, apply, and retain knowledge of Chickasaw Nation, departmental, divisional and all other rules, regulations, policies, procedures and guidelines

* Understand Native American culture and tribal programs

* Able to verbally communicate in a professional and positive manner with other team members, departments, guests and management

* Ability to effectively teach children various skills and knowledge

* Keeps written records

Skills:

* Basic Computer skills

Experience:

* 2 years directly related experience

Education:

* High School, GED or Equivalent

Credentials:

* Pass general background check

* Standard Driver's License

Training:
