Job Overview
Under the general supervision of Therapy Leadership and according to departmental policies and procedures regarding referral and standards of treatment, performs objective assessments and develops comprehensive individualized treatment programs for adult and geriatric patients. Responsible for direct supervision of patients and indirect supervision of rehabilitation technicians and PT assistants in accordance with State Practice Acts. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with Mercy’s mission, values, and Service Standards.
EducationEducation: Bachelor, Master of Science in Physical Therapy, or Doctorate of Physical Therapy.
LicensureLicensure: Current/Temporary license of Physical Therapy in the state of practice.
CertificationsCertifications: BLS certified. Required certifications must be current before assignment to care for patients independently.
Preferred ExperiencePreferred Experience: Six months to one year experience as a Rehabilitation Physical Therapist. Experience with care for adult and geriatric patients preferred.
Physical Requirements- Ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 lbs on a regular basis.
- Requirement for prolonged standing and walking during each shift.
- Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties.
