Wastewater Treatment Plant Supervisor
To assist in supervising, assigning and reviewing the work of staff responsible for the operation, maintenance and repair of the wastewater treatment plant facilities; to oversee and participate in all work activities; and to perform a variety of technical tasks relative to assigned area of responsibility.
Duties- Assist in planning, prioritizing, assigning, supervising and reviewing the work of staff responsible for the operation, maintenance, and repair of the City's wastewater treatment facilities.
- Recommend and assist in the implementation of goals and objectives; assist in implementing approved policies and procedures.
- Establish schedules and methods for providing wastewater treatment services; identify resource needs; review needs with appropriate management staff; allocate resources accordingly.
- Assist in the selection of wastewater treatment plant staff; work with employees to correct deficiencies; recommend discipline procedures.
- Assist in the preparation and administration of the wastewater treatment plant budget; submit budget recommendations; complete purchase requisitions; monitor expenditures.
- Review various analyses and reports and make recommendations.
- Assist in preparing analytical and statistical reports on operations and activities.
- Assist in ordering parts, equipment, and chemicals for the wastewater treatment facilities.
- Perform related duties and responsibilities as required.
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Four years of increasingly responsible experience working in water or wastewater treatment.
Certificates and Licenses:
- Valid Driver's License
- Possession of a Wastewater Operator License, Class "B" or higher, issued by the Oklahoma Department of Environmental Quality.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Operations, services, and activities of a comprehensive wastewater treatment program.
- Principles of supervision, training and performance evaluation.
- Modern and complex principles and practices of wastewater treatment.
- Principles of municipal budget preparation and control.
- Principles of procedures of record keeping and reporting.
- Occupational hazards and standard safety practices.
- Pertinent Federal, State and local laws, codes and regulations.
