Position Overview
Find your calling at Mercy! Requires one year LPN experience to qualify. Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care under the supervision of a person(s) licensed by a State regulatory board to prescribe medication and treatment, or under the direction of a Registered Professional Nurse (RN). Maintains professional accountability for provision of patient care for the assigned patients. Coordinates the patient care in conjunction with other departments.
Maintains patient rights and confidentiality of patient information.
- Licensure:
Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program; consideration for comparable education experience and successful licensure. - Must obtain and maintain a current LPN license in the hiring state and meet all State Board of Nursing requirements.
- Experience:
1 year as an LPN. - Certification(s):
Life support certification current upon hire and in alignment with Mercy policy no later than 90 days after hire. - Additional required certifications may include: ACLS, PALS, PEARS, S.T.A.B.L.E., BLS, IV Certification within 1 year of hire, and other unit-specific certifications as required.
- Ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 lbs. on a regular basis.
- Prolonged standing and walking during each shift.
- Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties.
