What you’ll do

Leads and develops teams effectively by teaching, training, and actively listening to associates touring stores and providing feedback. Tourto Teach communicates and collaborates with all levels of associates regarding store operations, utilizing technology business initiatives, merchandising, and company direction. Introduces and leads company change efforts, provides clear expectations and guidance to implement business solutions and communicates business objectives effectively.

Models and demonstrates exceptional customer service standards to store associates by following and demonstrating the One Best Way OBW service model. Manages and supports customer service initiatives such as community outreach programs; ensures customer needs, complaints, and issues are resolved and develops action plans to correct deficiencies. Provides process improvement leadership to ensure a high quality customer experience.

Drives the financial performance and sales of the designated store area by reviewing and evaluating PL/Profit Loss statements, managing and assisting in budgeting, forecasting, and controlling expenses in the business area. Monitors effective merchandise presentation, seasonal transitions, inventory flow, and operational processes, developing action plans to mitigate shrink and achieve sales and profit goals.

Provides supervision and development opportunities for hourly associates by hiring, training, mentoring, assigning duties, setting expectations, providing recognition, and promoting a belonging mindset. Coordinates job-related activities and builds accountability for meeting customer and business needs.

Ensures compliance with company policies and promotes a culture of respect, belonging, and integrity. Implements action plans utilizing the Open Door Policy and provides guidance on business processes. Promotes a regenerative mindset, supports customers and associates, and fosters a culture of belonging.

Minimum Qualifications
  • 2 years of college, OR 1 year of retail experience and 1 year of supervisory experience, OR 2 years of general work experience and 1 year of supervisory experience.
  • For facilities that sell firearms, completion of a firearms‑specific Criminal Background Check (CBC) and Firearms Authorized Training.
  • For facilities that sell only ammunition with state‑specific requirements, a current state‑issued Certificate of Eligibility.
  • Must attend and successfully complete all job‑required trainings and assessments (e.g., Academy trainings, Open Door training).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science in Business Management and Leadership (Live Better U and Bellevue University) and Certificate of Completion in People and Business Leadership (Live Better U and Bellevue University). General experience supervising 5+ direct reports, including performance management, mentoring, hiring, and firing.
