Heavy Equipment Technician

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Heavy Equipment Mechanic to diagnose and repair heavy equipment and diesel-powered machinery. This role focuses on troubleshooting and fixing equipment issues in the shop and field. Preventive maintenance is handled by a separate team.

• Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and pneumatic issues
• Repair engines, transmissions, drive trains, brakes, steering, and hydraulic systems
• Troubleshoot equipment failures and breakdowns
• Perform repairs in the shop and in the field as needed
• Use diagnostic tools and service manuals to identify problems
• Document repairs and communicate equipment status to supervisors
• Follow safety procedures and keep work areas clean

• Excavators, loaders, dozers, graders
• Skid steers, backhoes, paving equipment
• Dump trucks and other diesel equipment

• 1+ years of heavy equipment or diesel mechanic experience
• Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems
• Ability to diagnose issues independently
• Valid driver's license
• Basic hand tools required; company to provide specialty equipment
• Ability to lift heavy parts and work in outdoor conditions

• CDL
• Welding or fabrication experience
• OEM training (CAT, Komatsu, John Deere, etc.)
