Friends’ Central School Overview Friends’ Central School is an independent, coeducational Quaker day school founded in 1845 and serving approximately 881 students in Nursery through grade 12. Located in the Philadelphia suburbs, the School has two campuses. The Middle & Upper Schools are located just outside of West Philadelphia in Wynnewood, and the Lower School is on our Old Gulph Road campus in the heart of Wynnewood.

Admissions Counselor The Admissions Counselor is a full-time, exempt, 10-month position that reports to the Assistant Head of School. As a key member of a goal-oriented Admissions team, the Admissions Counselor is responsible for developing recruitment and retention strategies and tactics, managing and yielding admission candidates, and analysing performance to enhance future efforts. The Admissions Counselor plays a key role in recruiting new families to Friends Central.

Excellent interpersonal skills and a sense of ownership and willingness to collaborate and to “go the extra mile” are essential to the success of the School’s enrollment efforts.

Responsibilities include:

Assist in meeting enrollment goals.

Serve as the admission counselor for a portfolio of admission candidates. This includes communication, organizing family and candidate tours, visits and generally guiding and working closely with prospective families through the Admission process.

Collaborate with fellow counselors as the team works to admit and yield priority candidates.

As tasked: assist in planning and implementing Admission events on our City Avenue campus.

As tasked: assist in the developing and executing of the Admission and Communications Office’s robust recruitment and marketing with the purpose of promoting Friends’ Central School to the external community.

Attend recruitment and other related events on behalf of the Admission Office, including weekend and evening events.

Develop knowledge of local feeder schools.

Help to organize volunteers for giving tours and assisting at Open Houses.

Evaluate applicant credentials and reach admission decisions as a member of the Admission Committee.

Assist in developing and monitoring reports to enhance recruitment strategies, yield management, forecasting, and operational efficiency.

Take initiative to identify areas for departmental growth and improvement and propose appropriate change.

Identify and attend professional development opportunities offered by local and national enrollment management organizations.

Continuously improve use of digital and written tools and help to identify areas for improvement.

Experience/skills

Required:

A Bachelor’s Degree At least 1-3 years of experience in the workforce, preferably in admissions

Experience in Quaker Schools a plus Previous experience in Independent Schools a plus Strong verbal and written communication skillsA positive and energetic approach to work
