Duties
- Develop and implement age-appropriate curriculum plans that support child development milestones, including literacy, math, physical education, and social-emotional skills
- Create a safe, welcoming classroom environment that encourages exploration and learning through play-based activities
- Manage daily classroom routines, including diapering or potty training for toddlers and preschoolers
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians about children's progress, behavior, and classroom events
- Support children with special needs through individualized instruction and collaboration with specialists in early intervention or special education
- Maintain accurate records of children's development, attendance, and assessments in compliance with mandated reporting laws
- Foster positive behavior management strategies to promote respectful interactions and emotional regulation among children
Requirements
- Experience working with children in educational or childcare settings; prior preschool or daycare experience is highly valued
- Knowledge of child development principles and early childhood education best practices
- Ability to develop engaging lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards
- Strong communication skills to collaborate with colleagues and communicate effectively with families
- Certification in First Aid and CPR; additional training in childhood welfare or behavior management is a plus
- Familiarity with classroom management techniques and standardized testing methods for early learners
- Ability to work well in a team environment while demonstrating patience, enthusiasm, and flexibility
- Ability to educate with age-appropriate language and teaching methods.
- Patience, optimism, compassion, enthusiasm, and empathy.
- Mediation skills for resolving conflicts between children.
- Creative mindset to plan innovative, exciting lessons.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Word.
- Ability to stand as a positive role model for impressionable minds.
- Physical Requirements:
Must be able to lift children (30-40 lbs.), have good stamina, and be able to keep up with the children.
