The clinic Medical Receptionist answers phone calls, greets patients entering the facility. The receptionist will be required to have excellent computer skills in order to schedule appointments, document telephone messages and requests to be forwarded to the patient care team. Additional duties include collecting co‑payments, obtaining insurance authorizations, assisting with referrals, obtaining release of information, setting up records for new patients and additional administrative support functions.
Required Qualifications- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Proof of highest level of education completed but not less than high school education or equivalent.
- Demonstrated ability in keyboard proficiency, use of Microsoft Office applications, microcomputer and office equipment with acceptable speed and accuracy.
- Able to coordinate and schedule appropriately the provider’s schedules (triage).
- Current Arizona Department of Public Safety fingerprint clearance card (new hires must also complete the application process for this card before being released to their department).
- Experience with confirming eligibility with insurance companies required.
- Able to deal with the public in a compassionate, high paced environment.
- Must be a self‑starter not requiring direction or micro‑management.
- Ability to effectively communicate in oral and written form.
- An understanding of computer systems, process design and data management.
- Must have a well‑groomed, professional appearance.
- Must have the mental and physical ability to perform, with or without reasonable accommodation, the essential functions of the job.
- Ability to lift, carry, pull, & push 50 pounds.
- Language proficiency in English, with excellent written and verbal fluency.
- CPR Certification from the American Heart Association (Healthcare Provider) or other approved educational programs
- Bilingual English/Spanish
- Previous Advance MD/ Meditech experience or other related electronic records systems.
