Job Summary
Insomniac is looking for a Merchandise Accountant to support operations including month‑end close, reporting, analysis, and day‑to‑day activity. The role reports to the Senior Manager, Event Accounting.
Responsibilities- Oversee month‑end close process for festival and e‑commerce merchandise
- Prepare journal entries for merchandise inventory, COGS, and accruals
- Reconcile inventory, received-not-invoiced account, and artist royalty payments
- Review, code, and approve AP invoices for merchandise‑related expenses
- Partner with the merchandise department on new initiatives and any discrepancies
- Perform month‑end close tasks in accordance with GAAP and SOX requirements
- Streamline and create new processes
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance; CPA preferred
- 3+ years of accounting experience or related experience, preferably in cost accounting and inventory management
- Experience with Acumatica preferred
- Advanced technical skills, including Excel and ERP systems such as Oracle, SAP, and reporting software
- Strong organizational, communication, and analytical skills with the ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks in a fast‑paced environment
- Must be able to tolerate loud noise levels and busy environments
- Must be willing to work during evening and weekend hours, as required, to meet deadlines
