Accountant, Financial Reporting, Accounting & Finance

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Accountant to join our team. Reporting directly to the Controller, the Accountant will play a pivotal role in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting various business functions, and contributing to the overall success of our organization. The ideal candidate will possess a combination of technical ability and strong communication skills.

• Prepare general journal entries with complete supporting documentation. (reviewed by Controller)
• Prepare and maintain balance-sheet reconciliations and investigate and resolve reconciling items promptly. (reviewed by Controller)
• Maintain recurring schedules and continuity schedules supporting the general ledger. (reviewed by Controller)
• Assist in preparing financial statements, account analyses, and budget-to-actual and period-over-period variance explanations.
• Support the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close process in accordance with established deadlines.
• Partner with operations and supply-chain personnel to ensure accurate and timely recording of inventory and operating costs.
• Assist with year-end audit requirements.
• Assist with Accounts Receivable (AR) and Accounts Payable (AP) functions as needed.
• Maintain Fixed Assets subledger and related processes.
• Support maintenance of policies and procedures documentation.
• Utilize Microsoft Excel to work with and analyze financial data and support business decisions.
• Maintain a high level of professionalism and clear communication while interacting with internal stakeholders and external partners.
• Adapt to changing priorities in a dynamic work environment.
• Pursue ongoing professional development and training opportunities.

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field preferred; an associate’s degree combined with substantial relevant accounting experience may be considered.
• Two or more years of accounting experience preferred.
• Working knowledge of GAAP
• Experience with IFRS preferred.
• Background in public accounting or auditing is preferred.
• Experience in the mining, manufacturing, or construction industry is highly desirable.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and office suite.
• Experience working with an integrated ERP and financial-reporting environment.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
