Location: Colorado City

This temporary, at-will position is non‑benefits‑eligible. Some assignments may require ASRS enrollment depending on hours worked and assignment length. This role provides basic to intermediate administrative and clerical support for our Public Health Nursing staff, including answering phones, assisting customers, preparing documents, and performing general clerical duties. The position requires frequent interaction with staff, other departments, agencies, and the public, including providing information, coordinating tasks, gathering documents, and responding to inquiries.

Work

Schedule

Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. (Flex schedule max 16 hours a week). No weekends or holidays.

Pay Range

$15.45 - $16.88 per hour (Range 6 / Step 2
- 5).

Responsibilities
  • Assists with various simple to complex administrative tasks and do so efficiently, using independent judgment or under general direction of the supervisor.
  • Operates common office equipment and software programs necessary to complete work assignments.
  • Meets established deadlines and informs concerned parties of progress.
  • May provide customer service to the public, departments, and/or other agencies by phone, email, or in person.
  • Prepares related correspondence documents, forms, letters and reports.
  • Compiles data and prepares assigned reports and/or statements.
  • Communicates and acts in a professional manner with the public, co‑workers, and other contacts.
As Assigned to Public Health
  • Create and maintain a supportive work environment with other departments and community programs, Public Health divisions, and Public Health leadership on accreditation domain while maintaining a culture of quality improvement.
  • Apply basic principles, practices, techniques, teaching, and communication methods related to the age, gender, race/ethnicity, educational level and socioeconomic status of community members.
  • Communicate and act in a culturally competent and professional manner maintaining cooperative relationships with community members, co‑workers, and other contacts.
Secondary Job Functions
  • Performs related work as required and special projects as requested.
  • Exercise regular and predictable attendance and punctuality in accordance with Mohave County Personnel Policies and Procedures.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED, or an equivalent combination of education, experience, and training that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
  • English grammar, spelling, and mathematics proficiency.
  • Filing and information systems knowledge, including retention and destruction schedules.
  • Standard computer use and associated software applications including spreadsheets and word processing.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Operation of modern office equipment (personal computers, keyboards, fax machines, telephones, adding machines, calculators, etc.).
  • Interpret and apply technical and departmental information to complete work assignments.
  • Effectively communicate in a courteous and professional manner with those encountered in the course of work.
  • Speak, read, and write English.
  • Understand and carry out simple to complex written and oral instructions.
  • Perform the essential functions of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.
  • Follow directions and work independently and/or in a team to complete routine tasks or special projects.

Job Requirements
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license for operation of motor vehicles on Arizona roads at the start of employment and maintain said license while employed.
  • Provide acceptable driving history at no cost to the County.
