Description

GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES: Northland Pioneer College seeks a collaborative, detail-oriented individual who is committed to the mission, vision, and values of the college to serve as Registrar. The Registrar oversees all student records, which includes admissions, registration, transcripts, and is responsible for the overall operations and direction of the Records & Registration– Admissions Office, and the database containing student records.

The Registrar also collaborates with various areas of the college, including the office of institutional effectiveness, in sharing data for the completion of mandatory reports. The Registrar also ensures that the office follows state and federal compliance regulations, reporting requirements, and college procedures.

Examples of Duties ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Plan, organize and manage the Records and Registration Office and its related activities.
  • Serve as the college’s Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) compliance officer and be an educational resource to college personnel on ensuring FERPA compliance is being met, as outlined in federal laws and regulations.
  • The Registrar is responsible for the overall direction of the Records and Registration – Admissions office. The Registrar’s supervision is limited to the Assistant Registrar.
  • Provide office oversight and reporting of the annual state Full-Time Student Equivalents (FTSE) and FTSE Audit.
  • Ensure that the Records and Registration office provides any necessary support for the preparation of regular enrollment updates.
  • Critically examine and continually improve Records and Registration Office procedures to better serve students and rely on areas of the college.
  • Ensure the Records and Registration staff are effectively collaborating with deans and the deans’ assistants in creating and timely entering classes in the Fall, Spring, Summer class schedule.
  • Oversee Residency Classifications for students.
  • Oversee and approve or reject class substitution petitions, in consultation with advisors and deans.
  • Oversee the process for waivers to academic catalog requirements, working closely with the stakeholders required to approve or reject requests.
  • Participate in college committees, data governance committee, including, but not limited to, Instructional Council.
  • Oversee the international student admission and reporting process.
  • Oversee WUE waivers eligibility, determination and documentation.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Two years of related experience (program coordination and management)
