Senior Buyer

Overview

Brunel has an exciting job opportunity for a Senior Buyer supporting our client who are a large global mining company.

This contractor role will be in Miami, Arizona on a rotational basis, accommodations and travel provided.

Reporting to the project procurement lead, the Senior Buyer will perform purchasing tasks in accordance with standard techniques, procedures, and criteria but may be called upon to perform other procurement discipline tasks such as office expediting.

The daily tasks of a Senior Buyer are diverse and require multitasking, key responsibilities include:

• Oversight responsibility for Purchasing, Expediting, and Logistics coordination of the assigned packages/requisitions/purchase orders.
• Incorporating standard Procurement procedures and strategies in the procurement of goods for the project.
• Managing the execution of all procurement activities of the assigned packages and works with EPC contractor(s) procurement team and cross functional departments to ensure plans, budgets, and schedules are being achieved.
• Interacting with the Project Procurement Lead, Discipline Leads, EPC Contractor Company and on a day-to-day basis to meet project procurement objectives.
• Collaborating with team (internal as well as EPC contractor(s)) on strategic procurement and supply chain solutions.
• Develop sources strategies and the use of Strategic Supplier Relationships.
• Perform purchasing tasks in accordance with standard techniques and procedures.
• RFQ Bidders Lists
• Requests for Quotation (RFQs)
• Commercial Evaluations
• Purchase Orders and Change Orders
• Material Status Reports
• RFQ Status Reports
• Critical correspondence with vendors
• Maintaining records to ensure accurate documentation of purchases and transactions

• Excellent knowledge and experience in SAP procure-to-pay modules.
• 10+ years’ experience in project procurement in construction and/or mining industries.
• A bachelor’s degree - Engineering (Civil and Mechanical preferred) or Business-related studies.
• Knowledge and qualification in Project Management will be helpful.
