ABOUT

THE ROLE

As the Underground Development & Construction Coordinator you will play a key role in ensuring safe, efficient, high-quality execution of shaft sinking and/or lateral development activities. You will partner closely with contractors and the Project team to align with environmental, health, safety, and loss control standards while fostering a collaborative and transparent work environment.

In this role, you will contribute to operational readiness, support mine planning integration, and ensure quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) processes are effectively implemented; and perform other duties as assigned. This is a site-based role located at the Hermosa Project near Patagonia, Arizona.

Other key responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to:

Project Execution & Coordination
  • Ensure construction activities are executed in accordance with S32 environmental and community relations policies
  • Coordinate the construction engineering program, including communication between S32, engineers, and contractors
  • Extract and interpret data from plans, engineering reports, and specifications to support contractor execution
  • Coordinate the preparation and revision of technical work procedures aligned with project requirements
  • Support sourcing strategies for major work packages
  • Coordinate contractor risk assessments in collaboration with internal teams and consultants
  • Manage construction contracts and vendor service performance
Logistics, Planning & Controls
  • Collaborate with Project Services to coordinate material and equipment deliveries
  • Ensure proper implementation and documentation of care and preservation requirements
  • Assist with annual budget preparation in partnership with the Project Controls team
  • Monitor VDC and BXP performance metrics using approved systems
Safety, Compliance & Quality
  • Promote a strong safety culture through visible field leadership
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as industry standards
  • Support QA/QC processes to ensure construction quality and reliability
  • Participate in site Quality Circles and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Train, mentor, and evaluate team members, providing feedback for development
  • Build strong relationships across teams with a focus on collaboration and alignment
  • Support a positive, inclusive, and high-performance work environment
ABOUT YOU

You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Technical Degree (Construction or Similar) and appropriate Trade qualifications; OR experience in lieu of degree
