Construction Control Representative

These experienced professionals provide administrative expertise, facilities management, natural and cultural resource planning, and a broad array of other professional skills that support the National Park Service through the Experienced Services Program (ESP).

Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument preserves the northern-most natural habitat of the Organ Pipe Cactus, as well as amazing examples of desert plants, animals, geology, and human history. This 330,000 acre monument was set aside in 1937 to preserve a pristine example of Sonoran Desert.
QualificationsBA/BS Degree in Civil Engineering, Project Management, or Construction Management with minimum additional experience of 10 year(s) in Civil Engineering, Project Management or Construction Management
- Comprehensive, intensive, practical knowledge of, and skill in applying a wide range of technical engineering and construction control concepts, principles, practices, and precedents in order to perform work involving the planning, execution, monitoring, and control of construction, repair, rehabilitation, and accessibility projects within the National Park Service. Ability to apply knowledge to provide comprehensive advisory and technical services on substantive projects.

This position serves as a Construction Control Representative at Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument. The primary purpose of this position is to perform work involving the management and control of a variety of substantive and complex construction and repair/rehabilitaton projects. The incumbent represents the NPS and works within a multidisciplinary team of architects, engineers, conservators, preservation specialists, historians, environmental specialists, natural resource specialists, and technical support personnel to plan, execute, monitor, and track the completion of park projects.
- Project Execution
- This role provides on-site inspection and coordination of construction and engineering work to ensure projects are carried out according to plans, specifications, and accepted practices. It oversees and monitors construction progress, working closely with project inspectors and technical representatives to identify issues at any stage and implement corrective measures in collaboration with designers, engineers, and contract administrators.
60% - Project Tracking
- This role conducts ongoing analysis to verify that projects remain on schedule and within projected costs, preparing and tracking cost reports related to contract modifications and change orders to identify deficiencies and initiate corrective actions when needed.
