This inpatient Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) role serves patients from newborns through age 18 in a supportive clinical environment with advanced practice provider coverage during the day and evening. • Shift Duration: 8-hour day shift designation; coverage includes 24-hour call with morning rounds
• Coverage Need: At least one week per month
• Patient Volume: Approximately 7-15 patients per day
• Patient Population: Pediatric patients from 0-18 years of age
• EMR: Cerner

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Pediatrics
• At least 5 years of Pediatric Intensive Care Unit experience
• Active Arizona physician license or IMLC Letter of Qualification
• Active DEA registration
• Current BLS certification
• Current PALS certification
• Demonstrated proficiency with clinical coding
• COVID-19 and influenza vaccination required; applicable exemptions may be considered according to policy

• Provide comprehensive critical care to pediatric and adolescent patients in an inpatient PICU setting
• Conduct morning rounds and manage 24-hour critical care coverage
• Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients ages 0-18 with complex and acute medical conditions
• Coordinate care with pediatric intensivists, advanced practice providers, nursing staff, and interdisciplinary teams
• Provide clinical oversight and timely response to urgent changes in patient condition
• Complete accurate medical documentation and clinical coding in Cerner
• Support safe transitions of care and communicate effectively with patients’ families and care teams
