The K–8 Art Teacher provides engaging, developmentally appropriate visual arts instruction for students in kindergarten through eighth grade. The teacher fosters creativity, self‑expression, and artistic skill while integrating art history, techniques, and cultural awareness aligned with state and national visual arts standards.

• Plan and deliver age‑appropriate visual arts instruction for grades K–8

• Teach a variety of art media and techniques, including drawing, painting, sculpture, printmaking, mixed media, and digital art

• Introduce students to art history, artists, and global cultural traditions

• Develop curriculum aligned with state standards and the National Core Arts Standards

• Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs

• Maintain a safe, organized, and inspiring art studio environment

• Teach and enforce proper use and care of art tools, materials, and equipment

• Manage classroom routines effectively across multiple grade levels

• Prepare, organize, and inventory art supplies and materials

• Assess student work using clear rubrics and criteria

• Provide constructive feedback that supports artistic growth and creativity

• Document and track student progress

• Support student portfolios and art displays

• Collaborate with classroom teachers and staff to support interdisciplinary learning

• Participate in staff meetings, professional learning communities, and professional development

• Communicate with parents/guardians regarding student progress

• Support school‑wide events, including art shows, exhibitions, and special programs

• Bachelor degree preferred.
