Job Summary

The Laura & Joe Street School of Nursing is searching for a Nurse PhD:
Associate or Assistant Professor. This eleven-month appointment involves teaching undergraduate nursing courses, both theory and clinical, commensurate with expertise and education. Opportunity for other faculty roles and responsibilities are also provided.

Work Performed
  • Teach undergraduate nursing courses, both theory and clinical.
  • Utilize the online learning management system, WTClass.
  • Advise students currently in the undergraduate nursing program.
  • Serve on departmental and University committees (if elected).
  • Attend monthly Faculty/Staff Organization Committee meetings.
  • Demonstrate productivity in scholarly activity, if hired in a tenure-track position.
  • Work day shift, evening shift, and/or 12-hour shift in local hospitals.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Necessary Qualifications
  • A Master’s degree in Nursing is required for an Instructor position.
  • Candidates obtaining a Master’s by December 2025 will be considered.
  • FNP certification is required.
  • A current unencumbered license or eligibility to practice as a Registered Nurse in Texas.
  • Ability to instruct students in a variety of courses and clinical situations.
  • Ability to develop teaching materials.
  • Ability to work effectively as a member of the team.
Preferred Qualifications
  • A doctoral degree in nursing or a related field.
  • If the doctorate is in a related field, a Master’s degree in Nursing is required.
  • Experience teaching in baccalaureate and/or Master’s degree programs in nursing.
