Assistant/Associate Professor, Nursing Ph.D. DNP

Job SummaryThe Laura & Joe Street School of Nursing is searching for a Nurse PhD:
Associate or Assistant Professor. This eleven-month appointment involves teaching undergraduate nursing courses, both theory and clinical, commensurate with expertise and education. Opportunity for other faculty roles and responsibilities are also provided.
- Teach undergraduate nursing courses, both theory and clinical.
- Utilize the online learning management system, WTClass.
- Advise students currently in the undergraduate nursing program.
- Serve on departmental and University committees (if elected).
- Attend monthly Faculty/Staff Organization Committee meetings.
- Demonstrate productivity in scholarly activity, if hired in a tenure-track position.
- Work day shift, evening shift, and/or 12-hour shift in local hospitals.
- Other duties as assigned.
- A Master’s degree in Nursing is required for an Instructor position.
- Candidates obtaining a Master’s by December 2025 will be considered.
- FNP certification is required.
- A current unencumbered license or eligibility to practice as a Registered Nurse in Texas.
- Ability to instruct students in a variety of courses and clinical situations.
- Ability to develop teaching materials.
- Ability to work effectively as a member of the team.
- A doctoral degree in nursing or a related field.
- If the doctorate is in a related field, a Master’s degree in Nursing is required.
- Experience teaching in baccalaureate and/or Master’s degree programs in nursing.
