JOB TITLE:

CTE Graphic Design and Video Production Teacher

EMPLOYMENT TERM: 10 Months

JOB SUMMARY:

The position seeks a passionate teacher with a proven track record of improving student outcomes. A successful teacher in our community shares a passion for learning with future adults, connects with inquisitive young minds, and brings a positive change in their lives. The role involves creating a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and personal growth, motivating students, establishing positive rapport, building relationships with students, parents, and other staff, and acting as a role model to inspire and influence quality education for every student every day.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Meets and instructs assigned classes in the designated locations and times.
  • Develops and maintains a classroom environment conducive to effective learning.
  • Prepares for classes and provides written evidence of preparation.
  • Encourages students to set and maintain standards of classroom behavior.
  • Employs a variety of instructional techniques and media to address individual students or groups.
  • Strives to implement the district’s philosophy of education and instructional goals through instruction and action.
  • Takes necessary precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
  • Identifies possible learning disabilities of students regularly, seeking district specialists’ assistance as needed.
  • Evaluates student progress regularly.
  • Maintains accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy, and regulatory guidelines.
  • Assists in upholding and enforcing school rules, administrative regulations, and Board policy.
  • Provides availability to students and parents for education‑related purposes outside instructional hours when required or requested.
  • Monitors student progress to guide ongoing planning and instruction.
  • Documents progress learners have made in relation to observed lesson objectives.
  • Utilizes instructional strategies to foster deep understanding of content and application of knowledge.
  • Uses strategies that build learner self‑direction and ownership of learning.
  • Collaborates with learners, families, colleagues, other school professionals, and community members to ensure learner growth and advance the profession.
Minimum Education and/Or Experience
  • Current Arizona teaching certificate.
  • Appropriate certification in Core Content Area.
  • SEI Endorsement Required.
Preferred Education and/Or Experience
  • High school teaching experience.
  • Endorsement or extensive coursework in multiple content areas.
  • High school practicum or teaching experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

KNOWLEDGE OF:

  • Best practices in teaching and learning.
  • Writing and executing lesson plans with subgroups and subobjectives.
  • Student engagement practices.
  • Best practices in using technology and student online learning platforms.

SKILLED IN:

  • Locating and synthesizing best practices, emerging concepts, and new research in academia and education.
  • Building relationships and creating enthusiasm with students, faculty members, and families.
  • Making data‑driven decisions.
  • Organizing and planning instructional support based on individual needs and priorities.
  • Using data and technology to personalize learning for students.
  • Utilizing a variety of frameworks, platforms, and technology tools to enhance productivity and maintain appropriate records.
