Position Overview
Willcox Unified School District is seeking dedicated and adaptable Substitute Teachers to support student learning across all grade levels (K–12) during the temporary absence of regular classroom teachers. Substitute Teachers play a vital role in maintaining the continuity of instruction and upholding the district's commitment to educational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver lesson plans and instructional activities as prepared by the regular classroom teacher.
- Manage classroom behavior and maintain a positive learning environment.
- Adapt teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of students.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all students.
- Communicate effectively with students, staff, and administrators.
- Complete and submit required reports on student attendance and classroom activities.
- Follow all district policies, procedures, and guidelines.
Qualifications
Education:
Minimum of a high school diploma or GED. An associate's or bachelor's degree is preferred.
Certification:
Possession of a valid Arizona Department of Public Safety Identity Verified Prints (IVP) fingerprint clearance card.
Emergency Substitute Certificate:
Required for those without a standard teaching certificate. This certificate is valid for one school year and requires:
- Proof of education (e.g., official transcripts).
- Completion of the Emergency Substitute Certificate Request Form signed by the district superintendent.
- Payment of applicable fees.
