Payand Schedule
Half Day: $70
Full Day: $140
Long‑Term Pay: $155 (starts on 11th consecutive day in same position)

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Maintain a positive learning environment and respond to the individual needs of the students.
- Implement effective lessons in the absence of the regular instructor.
- Ensure that district policies are observed during all activities.
- Create a safe classroom environment conducive to learning.
- Keep all children in the classroom under supervision at all times.
- Be familiar with fire exits, fire drill procedures, severe storm and tornado warning procedures; review notes for the day, take attendance, and follow the lesson plans of the teacher.
- Maintain confidentiality as defined by FERPA.
- Demonstrate the ability to adapt to circumstances; exhibit good judgment and use appropriate language or behavior while on assignment.
- Report for duty 30 minutes early and remain for the entire assignment, including planning time of the teacher.
- Abide by state statutes, school board policies and regulations.
- Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
- Maintain accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy and administrative regulation.
- Leave detailed notes for teacher on any issues experienced during the day.
- Other duties as assigned by the Principal or the District Office.
- Must possess and maintain a valid DPS IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card.
- Valid Arizona teaching certification; to obtain a substitute teaching certificate, you must have, at least, a Bachelor's degree.
The role requires mobility within the classroom and campus, frequent use of hands and arms, bending, stooping, kneeling, and occasional lifting or carrying up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
The Work EnvironmentEmployees may be exposed to outdoor weather conditions including extreme heat or cold, wind, rain, high humidity, and dust. Noise level is usually moderate.
