Reports to: Principal

Salary: $54,540 (pro‑rated based on part‑time schedule) with additional credit for experience and education.

Schedule: Part‑time, 20 hours per week; 10 months, 200 days. Work calendar: 10 months, 200 days.

Benefits: Eligible for benefits starting the first of the month following the new hire date.

About the Role

Under the supervision of the Principal and District Coordinator of Career and Technical Education, the Teacher will provide consistent instruction to students, modify curriculum as needed, and support academic growth to enable each student to reach their potential.

Responsibilities
  • Support the Mission, Vision, and Goals of the district.
  • Facilitate CTE student organization activities.
  • Seek community support and resources for the CTE program advisory council.
  • Provide students with work‑based learning experiences related to the CTE program.
  • Comply with Arizona statutes, district policies, and administrative guidelines.
  • Provide documentation for local, federal and state program reporting.
  • Promote and follow the adopted school district philosophy, policies, regulations, and administrative procedures.
  • Create weekly written lesson plans aligned with curriculum objectives.
  • Maintain a well‑organized physical classroom environment.
  • Communicate objectives clearly to students.
  • Use effective teaching techniques and materials to implement curriculum goals.
  • Select and modify instructional resources to meet student needs.
  • Implement varied instructional strategies consistent with lesson objectives.
  • Use multiple assessment methods to monitor student progress and provide feedback.
  • Develop and enforce classroom rules and procedures fairly.
  • Diagnose student needs and seek assistance from district specialists.
  • Collaborate with department and grade‑level teachers.
  • Communicate regularly with students, parents, and professionals about student progress.
  • Establish student behavior standards for a functional learning environment.
  • Administer group standardized tests per state program.
  • Participate in Professional Learning Communities.
  • Model professional and ethical standards.
  • Meet course and school‑wide student performance goals.
  • Attend staff meetings and serve on required committees.
  • Participate in student meetings beyond the regular schedule as required.
  • Engage in professional development district‑wide and externally as appropriate.
  • Contribute to program development, curriculum review, and design.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Valid State of Arizona CTE Career and Technical Education Health Careers K‑12 certificate and fingerprint clearance card.
  • Current registered nurse license active and in good standing, or multi‑state privilege to practice as an RN under A.R.S. Title 32, Chapter 15; minimum one year of full‑time or 1,500 hours direct‑care RN experience, plus at least one of the following:
  • Successful completion of a three‑semester credit course on adult teaching and learning concepts at an accredited post‑secondary institution.
  • Completion of a 40‑hour continuing‑education program in adult teaching and learning concepts, accredited by a recognized organization.
  • One year of full‑time or 1,500 hours experience teaching adults as a faculty member or clinical educator.
  • One year of full‑time or 1,500 hours supervising nursing assistants, concurrent with the RN experience.
  • Knowledge of Arizona State Career and Technical Education Nursing Services program standards.
  • Knowledge of Arizona State Career and Technical Education Professional Skills Standards.
  • Ability to assess student needs through academic assessments.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate and work in teams.
  • Knowledge of classroom‑based assessments to drive instruction.
  • Proficiency with computers and related instructional technology.
Physical Demands and Work Environment

Employees must move around the classroom and campus, lift and/or move up to 40 pounds, and be prepared to physically restrain students when necessary. The work environment may include exposure to outdoor weather conditions, high humidity, dust, and moderate noise levels.
