Job DescriptionPurpose Statement
The job of the Classroom Coordinator is done for the purpose/s of providing support to the instructional program within the assigned classroom with specific responsibility for working with individual and/or small groups of students; monitoring students, and developing, coordinating, and managing the learning environment/dual enrollment with partnered entities, colleges, and other assigned programs.
This job reports to Principal.
Essential Functions
- Serves as the primary point of contact between the school and partnered entities, colleges, and other assigned programs.
- Develops, coordinates, and managers students learning environment/dual enrollment with partnered entities, colleges, and other assigned programs. Coordinates student registration and course scheduling/intake/exits, and monitors enrollment caps and course availability. Resolves scheduling conflicts and registration issues in coordination with the counselor or program advisors.
- Analyze participation, completion, and student achievement data. Prepares reports for school and district leadership, and as required/needed by the District, state, and partner entities.
- Monitors program effectiveness and recommends improvements and other strategies to increase student participation and achievement, including tracking program outcomes, credits earned, and success rates.
- Maintains and communicates program updates, calendars, applications, registration, testing and other important deadlines with students, parents, counselors, and staff.
- Recruits and informs students regarding program opportunities. Meets with students and families to explain eligibility requirements, course options, and expectations.
- Monitors and assists students for the purpose of supporting online learning environment and objectives, including but not limited to: support with academic goals, facilitating interventions when applicable; monitoring student attendance, behavior, academic progress/credits; graduation and college degree requirements; assistance with college admissions, applications, registration and placement testing in coordination with the school counselor and post-secondary advisors;
Helps students and families understand how program courses apply toward graduation and/or college degree requirements, and/or workforce readiness. - Coordinates curriculum, credit recovery, online learning, and individualized instructional plans when applicable.
- Proctors assessments and monitors student academic progress and provides interventions when necessary, which may include individual/group tutoring, etc. Utilizes classroom technology to support student connectivity and the learning environment. Assists with textbook, and other instructional material distribution, when applicable.
- Coordinates meetings, orientations, and informational sessions for students and families, and collaborates with counselors, administrators, teachers, and assigned program representatives to support student’s success. Attend district and partner entity meetings as needed.
- Communicates with teachers and/or parents for the purpose of assisting in evaluating progress and/or implementing IEP objectives.
- Maintains classroom equipment, work area, and accurate student records and attendance for the purpose of ensuring availability of items; providing written reference; providing a safe learning environment; and/or meeting other mandated…
