School-Based Special Education Counselor ($85-100/hour, Part-Time Contract)

Location:

T'iis Nazbas Community School, Hwy 160, BIA Road N5114, Teec Nos Pos, Arizona (On-Site)

Pay: $100/hour for counseling services and evaluations, mileage at current GSA rate

Schedule:

8 hours a day for 38 service days across the  school year, roughly one day per week as coordinated with the school, plus 4 extended school year days at 6 hours per day. Services begin early September 2026. Base year with four option years, so this can be a stable multi-year engagement.

• On-site service delivery about one full day per week during the school year
• Conduct screenings and counseling evaluations for all students referred
• Identify behavioral deficits from evaluations and develop goals to address them
• Provide counseling to help students reach IEP goals, then adjust goals or discharge students who meet behavior standards
• Participate in IEP and multidisciplinary team meetings and help develop education and intervention plans
• Advise special education and classroom teachers on counseling programs and carryover strategies for home
• Consult with other service providers and provide cotreatment where appropriate
• Provide training to school staff and parents as requested
• Meet with parents and guardians regarding student progress
• Submit student files weekly, IEP goals and assessments monthly, and progress reports and service logs quarterly

• Minimum of 5 years directly related professional experience in a school or counseling setting
• Ability to pass a background investigation prior to start
• Ability to provide on-site service in Teec Nos Pos, AZ

• Experience working with Native American students
• Experience serving reservation or rural schools
