Job Goal:
Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, an HQ paraprofessional with an associate's degree of 60 college credit hours or passing the Para Pro exam. The candidate must be able to monitor and supervise small and large groups of students in a positive manner, follow directions and school procedures, operate general office machines, organize and prioritize, communicate effectively, and adhere to all policies, regulations, and rules.
English reading, writing, and speaking skills are required. First Aid and/or CPR certification is preferred, as is experience working with elementary level students. A background clearance and an Arizona IVP Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card are mandatory.
Term of Employment: 181 days, 9 months

29 hours per week, Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 2:30 pm

Performance Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include working with students to reinforce learning, assisting with independent study and enrichment work, maintaining ethical behavior and confidentiality, participating in in-service training programs, exercising problem solving and conflict resolution skills, adhering to the dress code, assisting with supervision during emergency drills and assemblies, and maintaining confidentiality of protected information. The employee will also assist the teacher with student progress evaluation and perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Physical Demands:
The employee is regularly required to stand, sit, and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to use hands and arms, stand, bend or stoop. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment:
The employee may be exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, outside weather conditions, and extreme heat or cold. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
