Power Plant Mechanic II
Location: Golden Valley, AZ
Position Type: Full-Time
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
- Perform mechanical maintenance on Gas Turbine, Steam Turbine, and plant BOP equipment.
- Execute routine and non‑routine preventive and corrective maintenance.
- Analyze test data and troubleshoot equipment using installed test equipment and technical manuals.
- Coordinate job planning, work methods, and job reporting for assigned work.
- Support emergency repair or monitoring when on call off‑shift.
- Assist plant personnel with cleaning, overhauling, and replacing engines, generators, motors, pumps, and associated equipment.
- Prepare and maintain required reports and documents.
- Maintain plant mechanical devices and site buildings and grounds.
- Operate plant mobile equipment, forklift, and man lift as needed.
- Work night, overtime, weekend, and holiday as required and may travel occasionally.
- High School Diploma or equivalent; technical/vocational school diploma or related military service desired.
- Minimum of 3 years of power plant and/or gas/steam turbine experience.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and advanced understanding of chemistry, physics, electricity, and mathematics.
- Pipefitter, millwright, welding, and carpentry skills desired.
- Valid U.S. driver’s license.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal abilities.
- Organizational skills with attention to detail, accuracy, and timeliness.
- Basic computer knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Maximo, and related programs.
- Ability to exercise good judgment and make sound decisions with minimum direct supervision.
- Stand, walk, bend, squat, and lift up to 50 lbs. Work at heights, climb ladders, and work from scaffolding or platforms.
- Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) including hard hats, safety glasses/goggles, earplugs/muffs, masks/respirators, safety vests, gloves, and steel‑toe boots.
- Ability to hear plant alarms, equipment condition, and receive oral instructions.
- Ability to see, smell, and determine plant operating conditions and avoid safety hazards.
