** Description*
* Under general supervision, collaborate with others to give direction on and improve performance of site Industrial Control Systems.

+ Follows and promotes Freeport-Mc Mo Ran  safety and environmental programs and practices, communicates safety implications related to Process Automation (PA) and directs Industrial Control System (ICS) cybersecurity practices and policies.

+ Gives directions on Process Automation engineering topics and projects.

+ Develops and participates in engineering project proposals, and engineering designs, and has ability to verify the quality of project work meets site Process Automation standards.

+ Maintains the performance of ICS hardware and software. Participates in identifying opportunities to implement process improvement and optimization through automation while improving Operator and Operations effectiveness.

+ Participates in the implementation and maintenance of the Process Control Network (PCN) while maintaining plant performance, cyber security, and plant historian systems.

+ Specifies and reviews specialized, analytical and advanced instrumentation solutions to be integrated into the site ICS.

+ Participates in Process Automation equipment life cycle management and develops plans proposals, and budgetary estimates to ensure equipment remains current and up to date.

+ Perform other duties as required.

** Qualifications*
* Minimum Requirements:

+ High School Diploma or GED and seven (7) years of Engineering experience relevant to Process Automation,
** OR*
* + Bachelor's degree in a Scientific discipline
** and
* * three (3) years of Engineering experience relevant to Process Automation,
** OR*
* + Master's degree in a Scientific discipline
** and
* * two (2) years of Engineering experience relevant to Process Automation.

Preferred Qualifications:

+ Emerson Delta

V and Rockwell PLC experience

+ PLC, HMI, Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) and/or Distributed Control Systems (DCS) manufacture training or certification

+

Experience with plant process historians or similar database storage and retrieval systems

+

Experience with ICS/PCN network architecture, communication and security

+ Experience in or understanding of mining and mineral processing and systems

+ Familiarity with or training in NFPA 70 and NEC or Electrical Journeyman Training

Conditions:

+ Personal protective equipment is required when performing work in a mine, outdoor, manufacturing or plant environment, including hard hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, and as needed, respirator, rubber steel-toe boots, protective clothing, gloves and any other protective equipment as required.
