Pinto Valley is an open-pit copper mine located at the west end of the historic Globe-Miami mining district of central Arizona, approximately 80 miles east of Phoenix. Pinto Valley has been in operation since 1972 and has produced more than four billion pounds of copper. Acquired by Capstone from BHP in 2013, the mine is fully permitted through 2039 and a study is underway to potentially extend the mine life through 2050.

Capstone employees are eligible for an extensive total rewards package, designed to support your physical, mental, financial, and emotional well-being. This package includes, but is not limited to:

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Superintendent, Technical Training is responsible for leading the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of technical training programs across mining operations, maintenance, processing, and support departments. This role ensures employees and contractors are trained, qualified, and competent to safely and efficiently perform their work while supporting operational excellence, regulatory compliance, workforce development, and succession planning.

The Superintendent, Technical Training partners closely with operations, maintenance, safety, human resources, and leadership teams to build a high-performance learning culture that supports safe production and long-term organizational capability.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

Safety & Compliance Leadership:
  • Promote and demonstrate a strong safety culture aligned with company values and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure all technical training programs comply with MSHA, company policies, and site-specific standards and procedures.
  • Support field verification activities to ensure employees are performing work safely and according to standard operating procedures.
  • Participate in incident investigations and develop training-based corrective actions when applicable.
