Plant Operations Engineer II at La Paz Regional Hospital & Clinics plays a key role helping our department meet its daily goals. The Engineer will apply expertise to support daily projects and ensure quality standards are met. This position requires a strong foundation in engineering principles, effective problem‑solving skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with the Plant Ops team.
Core Functions- Perform daily tasks such as documentation of readings on equipment, plumbing, electrical, changing air filters, belts, cleaning coils on HVAC units, painting, and drywall repairs.
- Conduct technical analysis and testing of electrical systems and components, evaluating performance, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing necessary modifications.
- Create and maintain accurate technical documentation and user manuals, ensuring all documentation is up-to-date and compliant with company standards.
- Identify technical issues and provide solutions by analyzing root causes and implementing corrective actions; support troubleshooting efforts and provide technical guidance as needed.
- Monitor and ensure that engineering processes and outputs meet quality standards; participate in quality reviews and audits to maintain compliance with industry regulations.
- Work closely with other engineers and the Director on jobs to be performed, share knowledge, achieve project goals, actively participate in team meetings, and provide updates on project progress.
- Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies; contribute to process improvements and recommend enhancements to existing systems and procedures.
- Associate’s degree (AA) or equivalent two‑year college or technical school; or two to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- One or more certifications in HVAC, Electrical, and Plumbing.
- Must be able to read blueprints if needed.
- Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues effectively.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to convey technical information to non‑technical employees.
- Good values and personal skills, cooperative with others, ability to work with staff and patients.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environment; leadership and mentoring skills are a plus.
- May be required to hold a valid driver’s license and be eligible for company auto insurance policy; may be required to drive to other facilities.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Relevant certifications such as Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional (CMRP) or OSHA certification.
