Role Overview

As the Intern Geology, you will be responsible for supporting the Technical Services team during the 2026 summer season. This role is a base position from Hermosa Site near Patagonia, Arizona.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support a variety of engineering tasks with the goal to develop technical, social and ethical skills.
  • Learn basic principles of mine development design, stope design, zone design, waste management.
  • Provide support for trade off studies, such as conveyor to crusher and fleet.
  • Exposure to logistics simulation, first principal cost build up verification and core rig support.
  • Assist with project research, field work and preliminary design calculations and analysis.
  • Assist in collecting and maintaining project documentation.
  • Complete training on assigned tasks.
  • Exercise responsible decision-making regarding conduct and adhere to South
    32 policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Please note, there is no relocation or housing assistance associated with this internship.
About You

You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:

  • Ability to uphold workplace safety and ability to abide by South
    32’s policies and procedures.
  • Actively enrolled in Undergraduate or Graduate degree program with anticipated graduation date of August 2025 or later.
  • Actively enrolled in an accredited Mining Engineering or related Graduate or Undergraduate program.
  • Demonstrated interest in Mine Engineering, or related field and have a strong desire to advance skills related to South
    32 and the Hermosa project.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with others, expressing ideas professionally.
  • Self-motivated and eager learner with aptitude to grow and develop within the field.
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to take direction from leadership, mentors and managers.
  • Basic proficiency with technical writing, Microsoft suite, etc.
  • Authorization to work in the United States.
