Field/Service Technician, Civil Engineering
Plan, schedule and implement the daily mine surveying activities at Ray Complex.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS- Export designs from Mine planning software into Trimble Geomatics Office and Trimble Business Center into Trimble Data Collector for field work.
- Perform daily blast hole sampling.
- Assist in uploading pattern designs into the high precision drill systems.
- Surveys and establishes controls in and out of the pit.
- Create shot maps in mine planning software and assist in delineating ore/waste splits and staking controls in field.
- Establish elevation control at mining faces, haulage roads, and dump locations.
- Assist in layout waste dumps limits, haul roads, designs and maintain accurate progress maps.
- Assist Redline Engineer with Monthly Close Surveys.
- Participate in the continuous improvement of practices and procedures in the Engineering Department.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Strong interpersonal skills in developing consensus building.
- Must have excellent computer skills with MS Windows, MS Word, MS Excel, and MS Outlook and AutoCAD.
- Working knowledge of Trimble-GPS equipment and software.
- Working knowledge of Auto Level surveying equipment, techniques, and software.
- Must be able to manage time effectively and set priorities.
- Requires the ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Must have valid driver’s license.
- Must be able to deal with high stress and the elements.
- Must be able to perform fieldwork, lift 50lbs, and walk over rough terrain, sit, stand, bend, climb stairs/ladders.
- Must be willing to work after scheduled shift .
- · One (1) year of college or Technical School in a related field (preferred).
- · One (1) year survey experience in mining or construction environment (preferred)
- At least CEFR B2 - Upper Intermediate:
Can understand the main ideas of complex text on both concrete and abstract topics, including technical discussions in their field of specialization.
