Under general supervision, performs preliminary review applications of potential Casino/Gaming Agency employees and issues temporary/permanent licenses.
Experience equivalent to three years full time administrative/secretarial support or closely related work; OR completion of a post high school course/program in Office Administration, General Business, or closely related area may substitute for one year of the required experience. Must possess a valid gaming license/certification from the State of Arizona and/or the Ak-Chin Tribal Gaming Commission.
Responsibilities- Reviews job applications from Casino/Gaming Agency employees for completeness; issues temporary licenses/badges for employees whose initial background checks are free of felony convictions.
- Issues permanent/renewal licenses/badges when final approval is received from appropriate regulatory agencies.
- Bills casino for fees for Ak-Chin Gaming Commission and State Gaming Commission application processing.
- Performs a variety of administrative support work for Agency management and Commission members, including preparing/processing investigative reports, contacting other tribes for criminal history information.
- Schedules meetings/conferences and preparing information packets for items on Commission agenda.
- Performs other job related duties as assigned.
- Knowledge of the principles and practices of office management.
- Knowledge of criminal records checking procedures.
- Knowledge of record keeping/documentation principles and practices.
- Knowledge of personal computers, software, and general office equipment use/operation.
- Knowledge of billing/fee collection policies, practices, and procedures.
- Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with Federal, State, Tribal, County, and local law enforcement and regulatory officials, upper management, co-workers and the general public.
- Skill in preparing a variety of records, reports, and correspondence using appropriate format and computer software.
- Skill in maintaining filing/records systems.
- Skill in following complex oral and written instructions, policies, and procedures.
- Skill in operating a variety of office equipment, including word processor, computer terminal, typewriter, adding machine, and telephone.
- Skill in billing for reimbursement of application fees.
- Skill in using computers and applicable software for accounting, record keeping, logging of information, and report writing.
- Skill in applying customer service/public relations techniques in responding to requests from regulatory agencies, employees, applicants and the general public.
