Shift Supervisor
Serve as a Shift Supervisor for the Law Enforcement force assigned under the authority of the Senior Commander at IMCOM supported installations.
Supervisory Police Officers are responsible for responses to and investigates emergency calls, complaints and other calls for service.
Appear in court to testify as required in Military Court Martials or Federal and State Court proceedings.
Operate the National Crime Information Center (NCIC) terminal in accordance with federal and state laws to transcribe data.
Perform supervisory and administrative duties relating to the police force.
Assign work to subordinates based on priorities, selective consideration of the difficulty and requirements of assignments, and the capabilities of employees.
Term Appointment NTE - Position may be filled as a Term Appointment NTE 2 Years. Term appointments may be extended beyond of six (6) years, up to eight (8) years. With DoD approval, Term appointments may be extended beyond eight (8) years.
Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
Successfully graduated from the United States Army Civilian Police Academy, unless has a current approved waiver/exemption or grandfathered from the Office of the Provost Marshal General.
This is a Testing Designated Position (TDP) and is covered by the Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program. IAW AR 600-85, a DA 5019R Condition of Employment must be signed for mandatory drug testing.
Must possess a valid state driver's license and be able to obtain and maintain a government motor vehicle operator's license.
Must be able obtain and maintain a SECRET security clearance.
Hours of work is subject to irregular and/or rotating shifts, evenings, nights, weekends and holidays. Required to work overtime as directed and is subject to recall for emergency overtime.
Official Temporary Duty (TDY) up to 10% of the time may be required.
Subject to possible civil action due to improper exercises of authority or injudicious use of force in the apprehension or detention of individuals.
Must be able to lift up to 45lbs.
This is an obligated position.

Specialized
Experience:
One year of specialized experience which includes:
1) Conducting investigations into alleged/suspected violations in accordance with laws and ordinances;
2) Responding to crime scenes to collect and preserve evidence; AND
3) Preparing case records to include investigation findings and recommendations. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-08).
Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone -- no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
