Responsibilities- Patrol campus property and surrounding areas governed by existing mutual aid agreements.
- Respond to calls for service.
- Perform preliminary investigations, traffic enforcement, arrests, accident investigations, foot patrols, community services, building and property security.
- Serve warrants and conduct field identification activities on incident scenes.
- Complete required in‑service training and maintain necessary officer qualifications.
- Use computers for reporting, training, and meet timely completion of required online training courses.
- Accept supervisory feedback and support administrative policy.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Zero to five years of experience as a licensed police officer.
- Licensed peace officer in Texas with at least TCOLE basic certification.
- Valid Texas class “C” driver license within 30 days of employment and be an approved vehicle driver.
- Firearm qualification approved by department firearms officer.
- Good written and verbal communication, multitasking, teamwork, interpersonal skills, and satisfactory computer skills.
- Ability to function under stressful conditions.
- United States citizenship.
- Pass a physical, psychological, and vision exam meeting specified standards.
- Meet TCOLE minimum standard requirements.
- Unpenalized: no court‑ordered community supervision or probation for any Class C misdemeanor or higher within last five years; no felony convictions; no misdemeanor domestic violence convictions; good driving record with ≤3 moving violations in last three years.
- 30 college credit hours or equivalent education and experience.
- 2 years of law enforcement experience.
- Advanced TCOLE certification.
- One year supervisory experience.
- Re‑hire eligibility from all past employers.
