Position SummaryWe are seeking a dedicated and experienced Risk Management & Compliance Officer to lead our organization’s efforts in promoting patient safety, regulatory compliance, and organizational integrity. The successful candidate will oversee our Risk Management and Compliance Program, working cross-functionally with clinical and administrative teams to evaluate, reduce, and prevent risk and exposure to liability.
Qualifications- Bachelor’s Degree in Public Health, Healthcare Administration, or a related field
- Active RN License (Arizona or compact state)
- BLS Certification
- Minimum of 5 years of clinical practice experience
- At least 3 years of progressive performance improvement or quality management experience
- Certified Professional in Healthcare Risk Management (CPHRM) or Certified in Healthcare Compliance (CHC) preferred
- Must obtain certification within one (1) year of hire if not already held
- Lead the development and implementation of the Risk Management and Compliance Program to reduce liability, improve safety, and promote ethical conduct.
- Monitor and evaluate compliance and risk issues, conduct thorough investigations, and collaborate with departments to develop corrective and preventive actions.
- Maintain a current and effective written Compliance Plan, including annual evaluations and documentation of outcomes.
- Facilitate hospital-wide coordination to identify and mitigate risk exposure related to patient care, workforce safety, and organizational liability.
- Develop and apply risk management standards to assess organizational performance and patient safety initiatives.
- Conduct root cause analyses (RCA), failure mode and effect analyses (FMEA), and other investigative methods for incident response and quality improvement.
- Deliver ongoing staff training and education related to compliance and risk management principles.
- Utilize clinical and operational data to design evidence-based patient safety interventions and performance improvement strategies.
- Ensure all investigations and reports are conducted with the highest degree of confidentiality and professionalism.
- Draft and implement risk-focused policies and procedures aligned with state and federal regulations.
- Promote a just culture through nonpunitive error reporting and staff engagement in quality initiatives.
- Actively participate in and/or lead performance improvement teams across the organization.
