The position can be part-time or full-time.
Staff members include medical assistants who manage patient scheduling and cancellations or no-shows.
The role requires planning both regular and modified diets in a healthcare setting.
Experience in providing medical nutrition therapy targeting chronic diseases is essential.
Candidates should have a Bachelor's Degree in Dietetics from an accredited institution.
Completion of an accredited Didactic Program in Dietetics is required, along with current registration with the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
Responsibilities include providing medical nutrition therapy for inpatients and outpatients.
Medical nutrition therapy involves assessments, nutrition care planning, counseling, education, and administration of special therapies.
The dietitian will offer individualized guidance on food selection and meal preparation for disease management and prevention.
The role includes serving as a subject matter expert in nutrition and overseeing complex patient care.
Education and training programs may be provided to nursing staff, medical staff, and students as needed.
The dietitian will modify patient profiles according to nutritional needs and preferences.
Participation in interdisciplinary care conferences to develop or update patient care plans is required.
Regular quality assurance checks within the food service department will be conducted.
The role also involves providing nutrition-related presentations for the community and education for food service personnel.
Maintaining accreditation with regulatory agencies through report preparation is expected.
Additional duties may be assigned as necessary.
